40 Firefighters Extinguish Blaze in Kalibaru

Forty firefighters from the North Jakarta and Seribu Islands Fire and Rescue Sub-agency managed to put out a blaze at a bicycle workshop on Jalan Kalibaru III, RT 03/RW 01, Kalibaru Urban Village, Cilincing, Monday (3/30).

North Jakarta and Seribu Islands Fire Operation Section Head, Gatot Sulaeman stated that the incident report was received at 6:27 AM from a resident who came directly to the fire station. At the time of the incident, the kiosk was suspected to be empty as the owner had left for the Eid homecoming.
"We immediately deployed eight fire engines and 40 personnel to the scene," he expressed.

Firefighting efforts began at 6:30 AM, with the blaze successfully localized in 10 minutes, followed by cooling until 6:47 AM.
"The response was finalized at 7:02 AM. The fire was allegedly caused by a gas leak, and fortunately, no fatalities were reported," he explained.
Then a local witness, Yanto, expressed his appreciation for the personnel' alertness.
"The fire was spreading fast and almost hit other buildings. But, personnel were very efficient, and they managed to extinguish it quickly," he noted.
